Ubuntu Impact Health is the vehicle that drives positive global health outcomes and representation. Since the expansion of our enterprise, we opened a low-cost pediatric clinic for children living with disabilities.
Most of our beneficiaries are on chronic medication, consult with specialized healthcare professionals, and use special equipment; every month they have to go to a hospital or clinic. Due to their disability and assistive devices they struggle with public transport. They also have to wait hours before being seen by healthcare professionals and this makes it a real challenge for parents and for our children. These were the factors we considered when we decided on opening Ubuntu Impact Health’s first clinic to partner with the Department of Health and FirstRand Foundation to bring health services closer to the children.
Ubuntu Impact Health will assist families and other ECD centers who suspect their children might have disabilities. The clinic will work on early identification of various disabilities, working with local ECD centres on identification referral to our clinic and diagnostics.
Ubuntu Impact Health’s first clinic, Mirriam MedHub. A Low-cost Paediatric Clinic for Children Living with Disabilities enrolled in Ubuntu Inclusive Center. Miriam MedHub provides primary inclusive healthcare to ensure children born with disabilities can receive the necessary support to be successful.
The healthcare services we provide include Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Early disability identification, diagnosis, and referrals.
Ubuntu Impact Health invests in global disability advocacy, covering stories about global disability solutions, and influencing policies and resource allocation.
