In 2021 we opened a Skills Development and Training centre, Ubuntu Impact Institute to be part of Ubuntu Inclusive Center social enterprise. Ubuntu Impact Institute provides human capital development and training to Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners, nonprofit owners, and community youth.
Environmental, social, and economic sustainable values, practices and infrastructure are at the cornerstone of our social enterprise long-term value. In its formation we upcycled 3, 12-meter containers into environmentally friendly and sustainable classrooms and a computer lab.
We are an accredited training institution by ETDP SETA (South African Qualification Authority body) for Early Childhood Development (NQF Level 4 & 5) and Inclusive Education (NQF Level 4 & 5). We partnered with “Digital Moment” , one of the biggest digital skills training NGO in Canada to roll-out digital skills training and development.
We will be equipping our ECD practitioners with digital skills (coding, AI and robotics), introduction to computer literature, and many more cohort tailored programs. Leveraging partnerships and ensuring sustainable skill transfer, our model is a train-the-trainer program that provides digital tool kits (Raspberry Pi computer, Micro-bits etc. for ECD practitioners to introduce digital skills in their communities.
